The Jacket Varsity and Junior Varsity wrestlers claim 4th straight District 19 Title! Thirteen varsity wrestlers will compete at the Region III Championships this weekend in Allen. Over 70 teams will battle it out for the Regional Team Championship. Top four placers in each weight will qualify for the UIL State Wrestling Championships at the end of the month in Austin.
Thank you to all the Jacket parents for helping run another successful District Tournament. Thank you to all the parents who supplied food and drinks throughout the day! Many compliments from the programs that traveled to Rockwall for Districts. Special thanks to our table workers, concessions, gate, and general support workers during the day. Special thank you to Kim Carter for her leadership throughout the year in organizing concessions and the hospitality room for the coaches and officials. Thank you also to Joe Willy's for always donating great food! We value your support.

The Lake Highlands Quad will take place this Saturday. Teams participating are Lake Highlands, Plano, South Grand Prairie, and Rockwall. The last dual action prior to the District 19 Championships. Come support the Jacket Wrestlers as they prepare for another district title.
Rockwall Wrestling will host the District 19 Championships. We will run two mats and will need at least 8 volunteers to help run tables, concessions, etc. Please contact the coaching staff if you are able to assist.

The Wylie Round-Robin Invite is this Saturday, January 2nd. We will be taking ALL wrestlers who made holiday practices. We also will be taking a modified Varsity team. We need to be sure our varsity athletes do not exceed their 8 UIL Tournaments for the season. Varsity wrestlers who have wrestled a complete tournament schedule so far will not compete in Wylie. Some of our young wrestlers will get their first taste of Varsity action!
The CY Fair Invitational is Friday and Saturday (Jan. 8th/9th). We are scheduled to dual two teams on Thursday night so we will be traveling Thursday mid-morning. This tournament hosts roughly 64 teams, including 50+ teams from our Region. Head to head match-ups will be huge for Region 3 Championship seeding later in February! More information regarding the Cy Fair trip will be emailed in the coming days...

Our wrestlers had a great showing at the Hill Country Invite (Varsity) and the St. Marks JV Invite! The varsity took 5th as a team, landing 4 Jacket wrestlers in the finals. Chester Howell claimed the 130 championship while Brad Devereaux 112, Dylan Devereaux 160, and Robert Hinton 285 earned second place medals. Nick Hyde claimed a 3rd place finish.
Our Junior Varsity had great success at St. Marks, earning multiple championships and medals. Next Varsity and Junior Varsity action will be the Wylie Invite January 2nd.
The season is half way, about one month until Districts!!! GO JACKETS... Jacket Fight Never Dies!!!
Middle School Wrestling is under way!!! The coaching staff is working with Williams Middle School and Utley Middle School 3 days a week during their athletic period... the middle school athletic departments are very encouraged by the workouts and how their athletes are responding!!!Remember, Our Tradition Is Our Foundation... now, building our tradition at the Middle School Level!!! The future of Rockwall Wrestling is BRIGHT!

Jackets take 5th in the Rumble! Rockwall Yellowjacket wrestlers placed fifth in their own invite, Rumble at the Rock. Wrestling action will continue Thursday, Dec. 10th against McKinney High School. This event will be special as we recognize our seniors and their parents. Please come out and cheer on the Jackets!!!
Holiday Practice Schedule: Please refer to the Holiday practice schedule that was given to your wrestler. The dates and times are also indicated on the team calendar that was sent home and given out at the Annual Pig-Out... Wrestlers are expected to be at all holiday practices. Any missed practice time must be communicated in advance. Thank you for your support.

Jacket Varsity Wrestlers WIN Richardson Round-Up!!! The Rockwall Wrestling team won the team championship held at Richardson High School. The Jackets had 6 wrestlers in the finals, securing two individual championships. Junior Dylan Devereaux (171) and Junior Rober Hinto (285) we champions! Congrats! Also making the finals was Dylan Millhausen, Evan Martinez, Ian Stewart, and Zach Everett.
Junior Varisty wrestlers dominate Richardson Round-Up Junior Varisty Invite. Fourteen Jacket wrestlers traveled to the tournament and 11 brought home medals, including 6 championships!!! Jacket JV champs were Carter Smith, Landon Moreno, John Hernandez, Grant Baker, Blake Cass, and Daniel Roland.

Jacket Varsity Wrestlers place 8th at Warrior Invitational... The wrestlers competed this weekend at Arlington Martin in what people say is the toughest early season tournament in the metroplex. Our athletes competed well. Junior Dylan Devereaux led the Jackets with a finals appearance, losing to a top ranked wrestler from Bishop Lunch in the finals. Junior 285 pounder Robert Hinton placed 3rd with many other Jackets losing in the consolation semifinals. This tournament only placed the top four, eliminating wrestlebacks for 5th place.
Next action will be Saturday, November 21st in Richardson.
The Junior Varsity traveled to Arlington Martin for the JV portion Friday night. Fifteen Jackets traveled to Martin and 12 brought home hardware! We had 7 wrestlers in the finals and brought home 3 champions. John Hernandez, Daniel Roland, and Landon Moreno were crowned Champions!!! Congratulations to the Jacket Junior Varsity Wrestlers for a great showing!

Joe Willy's Night!!! Your Rockwall Wrestling Team will host a fundraising event at Joe Willy's Monday, November 16 from 4:30 until 8:30 p.m. Please share this information with all your friends and family!
